Poseidon CCR Rebreather Diving
Courses

What is rebrider?

  • With closed-circuit rebreathers (CCR), carbon dioxide (from exhaled air) is absorbed in a container filled with a scrubber. Simultaneously, a replenished portion of oxygen is added to the gas. Diving with a rebreather is essentially diving with Nitrox.
  • Rebreathers are also known for not releasing bubbles into the environment. The main advantage is better visibility of fish, and photographers can easily approach desired subjects underwater.
  • Rebreathers can be used in recreational or technical diving.

Advantages for technical divers:
CCRs originated from military diving and offer numerous benefits to technical divers, such as reduced gas consumption, optimized decompression mixes like EANx (a blend of oxygen and nitrogen resulting in longer no-decompression dive times), and much more.

POSEIDON Discovery MKVI / Se7en

  • The Poseidon unit has proven to be extremely reliable in the past. There are two models on the market: the MKVI and the Se7en. The former is an older version, primarily designed for recreational depths up to 40m and technical depths up to 48 or 60m. The Se7en is a newer version of the older model. The main differences include upgrades beyond the features of the MKVI, such as depths up to 100m, additional O2 cells for increased safety, and one or two M28 Poseidon computers, ensuring a safe dive up to 100m.
  • Poseidon enables silent buoyancy underwater, without air bubbles or annoying sounds.
  • You inhale pleasantly warm, humid air.
  • Fishe surprisingly begin to approach the diver on their own.

Poseidon CCR Rebreather Diving Courses

***Discover Rebreather Diver Program
Breathe without exhaling bubbles as a rebreather diver. You'll get longer no stop limits, learn to reuse the gas you exhale by recycling the good part and replenishing it for your next breath.

1. Discover Rebreather Diver Program

Similar to the first underwater experience designed for anyone who wants to peek beneath the water's surface under the guidance of an instructor, the Discover Rebreather Diver Program is aimed at certified divers to experience a dive with a POSEIDON rebreather under the supervision of an instructor. The requirements are to be OWD certified, have logged at least 15 dives, and be 18 years old. The rebreather dive can be conducted in a pool or open water, up to a depth of 5m. We provide the rebreather itself, along with everything else needed. All you need is a few hours of time and a desire for a new adventure.

Theoretical knowledge:

  • The instructor will prepare a short lecture for you in which you will learn all the details you need to know regarding the POSEIDON rebreather for this experience.

Oprema:

  • You'll need basic gear: mask, neoprene suit, boots, and fins.

2. Rebreather Diver Program

Similar to the open water diving course, this program is designed for anyone who would like to gain basic knowledge and safe diving with the POSEIDON rebreather to a depth of 18m. During the course, we learn the use of oxygen and diluent as breathing gases for the rebreather. Dives are non-decompression.

Theoretical knowledge:

  • Each participant receives a book to study at home at their own pace. Participants also complete quizzes found in the book and fulfill knowledge reviews before meeting with the instructor.
  • Participants review the Poseidon rebreather instructions before the start of the course.
  • The theoretical portion covers the basic functionalities of CCR and SCR rebreathers, components of rebreathers, pre-dive checks, rebreather diving, issues during dives, assembly/disassembly and maintenance of rebreathers, spare parts and user components, lungs and their issues, breathing and breathing difficulties, carbon dioxide and oxygen consumption, high and low oxygen content in the loop, dive computer and dive planning, problem-solving underwater, diving with other divers, and what to do in case of difficulties.

Practical skills:

  • We will conduct six dives totaling over 300 minutes in various aquatories.
  • The course typically lasts 3-4 days.

Equipment:

  • You will need basic gear: mask, wetsuit, boots, and fins.
  • You will also need an inflatable buoy (DSMB) and reel.
  • You will need stage, an aluminum tank, which can be 7l or 11.1l along with a regulator and pressure gauge. It must also have the ability to attach it to the rebreather BCD.
  • You will need a Poseidon VI or 7 rebreather set. If you do not have a rebreather, read below - renting a Poseidon Rebreather.

Requirements for course enrollment:

  • The participant must be at least 18 years old.
  • Completion of at least OWD or equivalent course from any internationally recognized diving school.
  • The participant needs at least 25 logged dives.
  • Completion of the Nitrox specialty (this can be completed before starting the rebreather course).

 3. Advanced Rebreather Diver Program

The program is a continuation of the Rebreather Diver Program. The primary objective is safe diving to a depth of 30m, or 40m if the participant has completed the Deep Diver specialty. All aspects of the Rebreather Diver program apply to this program, with the following additions:

Theoretical knowledge:

  • Each student receives a book to study at home at their own pace. The student also completes quizzes found in the book and fulfills knowledge reviews before meeting with the instructor.
  • The theoretical portion covers rebreather limitations, the use of stages, risk reduction during dives, and proper decision-making in case of difficulties.
  • It also includes underwater signals.
  • We will familiarize ourselves with the rebreather's depth and dive time limitations.

Practical skills:

  • During the course, we will delve further into using the rebreather.
  • We will learn about the use of stages, how to prepare them, and their use in the water.
  • We'll address clearing water from the loop, assisting a dive buddy, and much more.
  • We will conduct five dives totaling over 240 minutes in various aquatories.
  • The course typically lasts 3 days.

Equipment:

  • You will need basic gear: mask, wetsuit, boots, and fins.
  • Additionally, you will need an inflatable buoy (DSMB) and reel.

  • Completion of at least AOWD or equivalent course from any internationally recognized diving school (this can be completed before starting the rebreather course).
